Women in Hydropower
The Women in Hydropower Mentorship Program provides an opportunity for women to connect, generate new friendships and networks, and share experiences in a supportive environment that highlights the powerful contributions women from around the world make in the hydropower industry.
Applications for the 2026-2027 cycle are now closed and pairings will be were announced in September 2026.
Keep an eye open for the application form for the 2027-2028 cycle - it will be released in June 2027.

Meet once a month for 8 months (October to May)
Applications will be available early June and accepted through August 1; Pairings/Triad groups announced by end of September
OUR PARTNERS IN SUCCESS
The Women in Hydropower Mentorship Program has been administered by the International Hydropower Association since June 2026. We are grateful to the our supporting organizations that provide us opportunities during their annual/regionals meetings, and conferences and through their communications to let other women in the hydropower industry know about what we are doing!
We would also like to thank Kleinschmidt for developing and hosting the Women In Hydropower Mentorship Program website and for its support for many years!

First mentor pairings in 2017

Developed surveys to collect feedback in 2019, 2021, & 2023
In September 2026, we placed 209 participants into 63 triads and 10 pairs
Over 80% of participants are in the program for the first year; 5% have been mentoring for 3 years or more!
Participants come from 50 countries, with the top 5 being the US, Canada, Australia, Nepal and Nigeria
